JAPAN & NISEKO DELIVER ONCE AGAIN
Last week saw the Academy team and 50 lucky members participate in our 7th trip to the Japanese Island of Hokkaido and the powder skiing paradise that is the resort of Niseko. This years trip will once again go down as absolute classic.
Day 1 was the perfect introduction for everyone there as the sun made a very rare appearance revealing the incredible volcanic landscape that surrounds the resort. The weather gave the groups the chance to get a real feel for the terrain which really helped when the weather closed in on day 2 and then continued for the rest of the week.
Over the years we’ve grown used to the incredible snow falls Niseko receives. It is fairly common to see 15 – 20cms fall in an afternoon and then continue through the night. This year was no exception. The groups were gifted with regular dumps throughout the week and were guaranteed fresh turns on a daily basis.
On top of the unbeatable snow conditions Niseko also supplied the best location for our after ski activities. Incredible food and lively bars were frequented by the whole team on a nightly basis and the atmosphere in the camp was fun and unforgettable.
We’d like to take this last opportunity to thank everyone that committed to traveling to the other side of the world in search of their powder fix. Vikki at Ski Independence was once again a huge help to everyone who attended. We’d also like to extend a huge thank you to Niseko United who provided incredible support for our trip.
Understandably, our Japan Powder Camp is one of our most popular courses. Our 2017 trip is already half full and we haven’t even announced the dates yet!
