Our Heliski camp in Revelstoke Canada has sadly come to an end, but what an incredible experience it was for everyone involved. The event was billed as a ski trip of a lifetime and it certainly lived up to that title.
The stage was set in the resort town of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort where the whole group met and were split into the relevant teams for the week. The two days here were to act as a boot camp session to make sure everyone was up to speed and feeling technically ready for the following days of heli-skiing.
With their action plans in place, the group then left for Revelstoke feeling ready and super motivated.
Upon arrival in Revelstoke, we were met by the fabulous team of CMH Heli-Skiing & Summer Adventures guides and staff. Before skiing, we undertook some necessary safety training and how to act in and around our helicopter. Then it was all systems go as the drops came thick and fast over the rest of the week.
The system and timings for moving four groups around the mountain worked absolutely seamlessly and our pilot Ben worked tirelessly to make sure it ran like clockwork.
The skiing was out of this world. The terrain was perfect for everybody, whether it was wide mellow powder bowls for our less experienced team or steep technical descents for our seasoned experts.
This was the first camp of its kind where the combination of an Academy coach and a CMH guide worked together to make sure the group members received the best possible coaching on the best terrain. It’s a partnership that we are super pleased to say worked perfectly and a relationship that will grow year upon year.
We are already extremely excited about our 2018 trip and if this year is anything to go by it will be an experience not to be missed.
We hope you enjoy our collection of video blogs from this incredible course. We have a special YouTube playlist that you can access here to watch how the week unfolded.
Interest in next years course is already coming in to us at team HQ so please get in touch soon if you’d like to join us out there.
Thank you once again to our friends at CMH Revelstoke and Pure Powder for an unforgettable trip. But most importantly the 40 people that made so amazing! Bring on next year!
