CERVINIA WEEK 4 REPORT
The Academy 5 day courses continued this week and for the first time this summer we experienced some classic winter like conditions. It seems that the recent heat wave that western Europe has been experiencing has left us and been replaced by some cold crisp air. Thursday morning saw a fresh dusting of a few centimeters which gave the participants something new to play on. Rob Stanford from the Academy team said, “We’ve been so lucky up here at 3900 meters, even with the heat wave of the past month, it just doesn’t seem to effect us this high up. But, we all love it when the cold comes in with fresh snow. It’s ironic, but I’ve skied plenty of powder snow over the summer courses on years gone by”. To catch up on all the action from this week in Cervinia please take a look at this weeks (slightly different) video blog.
This week also saw our Summer 2015 gap year students undertake their IASI Level 1 Ski instructors course. After 3 weeks training under the Academy it was very rewarding for all involved to see them come away with a great result.
We’ll be sure to give more reports on their progress throughout the summer as they move ever closer to the IASI level 2 exam at the end of August
