Fi started skiing aged 3. With a background in ski racing she then went on to develop her skiing though becoming a ski instructor. She has years of coaching experience in a multitude of sports including skiing, hockey, gymnastics and tennis. Through this she has developed a vast toolbox of different teaching skills that she implements on a daily basis up the mountain teaching skiing. After 6 years she has now found her calling in Freeride skiing and when not teaching she is competing in Freeride competitions.

On Fi’s days off you will find her hiking to find secret powder stashes and skiing steep couloirs.

With her endless passion for skiing and coaching Fi gets the best out of her clients. This is why 4 years ago she joined the Academy team as the first ever female coach and we’re very glad she did!

Jamie Heywood

Jamie has been teaching in and around the Verbier 4 vallees area for 9 years and knows the area like the back of his hand. One of if not the most fluid skiers you will ever see, he makes skiing look effortless. He has extensive teaching experience and knows how to get the best out of his clients whoever they may be.

Jamie loves a good cup of tea, although not quite as much as Jordan. He loves to ski bumps but is not as good as Andy, not as Norwegian as Stef and not nearly as enthusiastic as Rob (but who is!). Occasionally, he can be spotted shredding the mountain and the park on his telemark set up, faster and better than most would be able to do on skis!

Matthew Arrowsmith

Matt is a qualified Instructor and has been working in Verbier for the past six years with a cheeky year living and working in Australia sandwiched in the middle so knows Verbier and it’s connecting resorts very well! Having developed a love of the mountains in his early teens through mountain biking, he is incredibly passionate about helping people learn as much as possible to ensure they love the mountains as much as he does!

Matt is a fun instructor to learn from that likes to break some of the simpler things down and really explore the fundamentals to help skiers adapt to whatever challenges they are faced with. Always full of energy and terrible banter, he really tries to remind people that they’re on holiday and to relax and enjoy where they are and what they are doing whilst also improving! Matt is a huge fan of off piste and moguls. He has spent a lot of his coaching days working with some of the local Freeride athletes and competitors making sure their technique is up to scratch to ski the most challenging of terrain. On his days off can be found bombing around the mountain looking for jumps and mogul lines and continuing to push himself to make sure he’s at the top of his game.

Off the mountain, Matt loves his sports and will happily chat tennis, rugby, cricket or football with anyone. His extended knowledge of all the bars in town means that he can nod you in the right direction for whatever activities you may have planned for the evening!
