Pigne d'Arolla
The Pigne d'Arolla is one of the most beautiful summits in the region, dominating the Val d'Arolla. It is the highest point on the Chamonix to Zermatt Haute-Route. Pigne d'Arolla has a constant gradient which is perfect for the skier looking for a challenge. Sitting at an altitude of 3800m with a descent of 2000m you can ski all the way down to the conveniently located Arolla heliport. The following are possible routes from Pigne d'Arolla:
Easy
• Pigne - col de Chermontane - col de l'Evèque (2 hours walking) - descent to Arolla on the Haut glacier d'Arolla.
• Via la cabane des Vignettes et le glacier de Pièces.Moderately Difficult
• Via the glacier de Vuibé.
• Pigne descent of the glacier des Dix - ascent to the col des Ignes (2 hours walking) - descent to La Gouill.Difficult
• Via the glacier de Tsijiore Nouve.Extremely Difficult
