Trient

The Trient Glacier is an extensive glacial plateau that rises to the foot of the Aiguille Tour on the border between Switzerland (vallée du Gd St.-Bernard - Verbier ) and France ( vallée de Chamonix ). The helicopter lands onthe Col des Plines on the Trient glacier, which is at an altitude of 3300m with a 1600m descent. |
The following are possible routes from Le petit Combin glacier:
Easy
• Via the col des Ecandies and the val d'Arpette to Champex.
• Via the glacier d'Orny and the Combe d'Orny to Orsières.
• Via the glacier d'Orny and the vallon d'Arpette de Saleina on the Praz de Fort.
• Ascent to the foot of the Aiguilles du Tour ( 1hr walking) then descent the glaicer des Grands or the Bérons to the village of Trient.
Moderately Difficult
• Via the glacier des Ravines Rousses to Praz de Fort.
Difficult
• Trient, fenêtre de Saleina, col de la Gd :ui and descent to la Fouly.
Very Difficult
• Trient, ascent to the Pointes d'Orny ( 30 mins walking ) descent the northern couloirs to Le val d'Arpette.
