HELP THE ACADEMY FAMILY & DONATE TO A GREAT CAUSE
As you read this a brave bunch of 20 core riders are participating in the 4th bi-annual Dallaglio Cycle Slam. 1,861km and 32,285m of climbing is what the core riders (riders completing all 4 stages) are currently powering through.
Warren from our team will be joining the riders to take part in the 4th stage in Ibiza later this week. We are very proud that he’s taking part but even more proud of our close Academy family Alyn Morgan (pictured here with Lawrence) and Matthew Horder who have joined Lawrence and the team in the whole event. Alyn Morgan has been one of the Academy’s longest returning clients and will be known by many other members for his sharp sense of humor and memorable nights at the bar! Matt Horder (pictured below with Lawrence and Martin Johnson) has trained through the Academy’s ski instructor training system becoming an excellent coach and even assisted Warren on Channel 4’s, The Jump.
Lawrence has been a dear friend of the Academy since he decided to give skiing a try 9 years ago and got bitten by the Academy bug. In just a short time he ended up skiing some of Verbier’s well known off piste runs including the Backside of Mont Fort and various other black run descents!
All the guys are doing this incredible challenge for a fabulous cause called RubgyWorks, which uses rugby to transform the aspirations of disengaged young people: 14 to 16 year olds at increased risk of long-term unemployment, criminality and imprisonment.
They aim to make a profound impact on the marginalised lives of those excluded from mainstream education – increasing self-worth, improving life skills and boosting employability.
So thank you in advance for any help you can give. This is a charity that is very dear to our hearts and we hope to help raise as much as possible. We will keep you updated with their progress. Best wishes from all the team.
