JAPAN POWDER CAMP WEEK 1 REPORT
The first week of our 2017 Japan Powder Camps has come to an end here in Niseko. True to the form of the last 10 years we have been gifted some awesome conditions.
Snow has been falling every day and it’s progressively become deeper towards the end of the week. This has suited the groups down to the ground as they’ve been able to work on some specific powder skiing techniques that have gradually become second nature and then applied into the areas where it matters! All the groups have been able to venture into some of Niseko’s famous off piste areas including the endless open tree’s of the Annupuri gates plus the steep and deep bowls of Hanazono.
There have been 5 groups spread between Jordan, Stefan, Raff, Fiona and Rob. It’s been great to welcome back a good number of Japan Powder Camp regulars. The Cribben’s have been here on mass with David and Veronica bringing along their daughters Catherine and Evelyn. Plus Academy legends Ray Hood, Denise and Graham, and Karin and Jonathan to name just a few! On top of that we also welcomed some new Academy members to the course who have all helped to create a great environment both on and off the mountain.
Some of the guys will be joining us for our second week of camps beginning on Saturday but to all of those leaving us we’d like to extend a huge thank for all the effort and passion you brought to the course!
