As well as our regular 5 day courses, this summer will also see our acclaimed Gap Year Ski Instructor training course return to our program. This 9-week program offers students the ideal time to train and qualify as ski instructors ahead of the next winter season. For the 3rd year running the examinations will be lead by both the Academy and IASI(Irish Association of Snowsports Instructors) and give students the chance to qualify as Alpine Level 1 and Level 2 instructors.
Our summer gap year course is an amazing experience in a stunning setting. The Italian resort of Breuil-Cervinia is our base. Sitting on the lower slopes of the Matterhorn and surrounded by miles of hiking and biking trails it gives us the perfect opportunity for afternoon activities. We train until just after lunchtime on the glacier then the afternoons can be spent doing any number of sporting or social activitie
Our friends at the Hotel Mon Reve provide the perfect lodgings and it goes without saying that the local Italian restaurants serve up amazing food when it comes to dinner time!
On last years course, we welcomed travel journalist and skier Abi Butcher on to the course. Having skied all over the world ticking off some incredible experiences along the way, the WSSA Gap year course would provide an all new ski training experience for her. To read her review on the course check out her 3 part article for The Telegraph Travel below.
