About  the Trip

Partnering with Pure Powder and Viking Heli Ski, we’re excited to bring you an unforgettable heli-skiing adventure in Iceland with the Academy.

After visiting Iceland in 2026, we were completely blown away by what it had to offer. From the incredible terrain and consistently excellent snow to the breathtaking landscapes and the warm hospitality of both the Icelandic people and the Viking Heli Ski team, it quickly became clear that we had to share this experience with our community.

We’re thrilled to offer this short but unforgettable trip, giving you the opportunity to discover the magic of heli-skiing in Iceland for yourself. Better yet, you’ll be joined by one of the Academy coaches, who will be on hand throughout the trip to help you progress your skiing, capture professional photos and videos, and make the whole experience even more memorable—both on and off the mountain.

Expect a fantastic variety of skiing conditions throughout the trip. From fresh Arctic powder to what many consider the world’s best spring corn snow, you’ll enjoy stable, confidence-inspiring conditions that allow you to safely explore fun and challenging terrain while continuing to develop your skiing. The Arctic mountains offer runs with vertical descents of up to 1,500 metres (4,900 feet), creating unforgettable top-to-bottom experiences.

Over the three days of skiing, we’ll typically cover between 18,000 and 25,000 vertical feet each day. And when conditions are perfect and everyone’s still keen to keep going, the mountain—not the itinerary—sets the limit. At this time of year, darkness lasts for only a few hours, allowing the helicopters to operate well into the evening. The result is the chance to enjoy spectacular final runs during the golden hour, making turns as the sun sets over the Arctic Ocean—an experience you’ll never forget.

Travel logistics

You need to arrive in Akuyeri on the 20th April and departure from Siglo Hotel on either the 23rd(after skiing) or on 24th April if you want to stay the extra night (extra cost for the hotel on the 24th)

There are direct flights to Akureyri airport from certain airports but if you can’t get a direct flight,  you can fly to Keflavik International Airport (KEF) and then will need to transfer to Reykjavik Domestic Airport (RKV) (45 mins drive) and Icelandair fly from Reykjavik to Akureyri.

3 days coaching, photography & videography

We’ll have 3 days of Heli skiing in 4 person Helicopters (plus guide and pilot). The Academy coaches will split between 2 groups (so 1 coach for 7 people to accommodate the helicopter capacity) sharing their time equally and during the day they’ll be on hand to coach you and develop your skiing whilst also taking some amazing photos and capturing great video content for analysis and fun too! Each helicopter will have it’s own guide. Once skiing’s over the coaches will be around for socialising and general apres ski fun.

Short but sweet!

3 days might not sound like a lot but the days are big and the skiing sublime! The sun only sets for a few hours and the Heli’s can fly until its getting dark so it’s very normal to have a lot of time and not need to rush during the day – something typically not associated with Heli-skiing and a true pleasure allowing you to make the most of your skiing and the stunning surroundings.
