CARV gives you a clearer picture of how you ski. Small sensors attached to your ski boots connect to the CARV app, measuring what happens through every turn and translating it into clear, actionable data.

Alongside an Academy coach, that data becomes even more powerful. Your coach can combine CARV’s metrics with what they see on the snow to identify specific areas for improvement, then use the data to measure your progress as you develop.

Often technical changes are subtle and difficult to feel. CARV gives you an objective reference point, helping you see what’s happening rather than relying on feel alone. But data is only useful when you know what to do with it. That’s where the Academy’s coaching expertise comes in: interpreting the numbers, putting them into context and turning them into focused, practical guidance on where to put your focus and how best to develop your skiing.

And the learning doesn’t have to stop when the lesson ends. CARV can continue to give you feedback as you practise, helping you stay focused on the right things between sessions. Combined with skiing video, your CARV data can also provide valuable context during an online coaching session, giving your coach a more complete picture of your skiing and helping shape what you work on next.

The Academy’s relationship with CARV goes back to 2014, when we first began testing the technology. Since then, we’ve stayed closely involved, sharing ideas and exploring how data can complement the way we coach.

Today, the Academy team use CARV extensively in Verbier and internationally on our courses and private lessons. It has become another way for us to understand our own skiing, analyse performance and help our clients understand theirs.
