Course info
The course will be running continuously from Monday to Friday. Unless you are planning to take a day or two extra at either end of your trip, you should aim to arrive in resort the night before the course and depart either on a late evening Friday flight or Saturday flight. The courses are designed to build and develop skill and confidence, to enable people to ski all terrains including Moguls, Steeps, Variables, Powder and how to Carve effectively on piste.
Skills are developed by practicing specific exercises that benefit the main topics. Progressively, the new skills are tested in suitable terrains to build confidence. Each skier is also looked at from an individual point of view to help understand their strengths and improve upon their weaknesses. The early December courses are an ideal way to kick start your skiing for the season with clear direction in how to develop. The slopes are quiet, there are great deals on accommodation and they’re a fantastic way to get your ski legs in for the winter ahead.
We ski each day from 9.30am until 3.30pm and take a lunch break at approximately 12.30pm. We will be filming regularly and doing video analysis throughout the week. The videos will be reviewed and analysed most days at convenient times that don’t interfere with skiing.
The groups are a maximum of 4 per instructor.
The course is suitable for Academy levels 1-6 on our rating scale. If you’re not sure of your level please have a look at the videos here.

TRAVEL INFORMATION
If you’re looking to fly to Verbier, Geneva is the closest commercial airport with numerous flights available from all major airlines. Once you get to Geneva airport you can get to Verbier by Train (www.sbb.ch) or if preferred there are numerous transfer companies that offer the route such as Alpybus or Alpine express.
If you’re looking to get to resort in a more environmentally friendly way or just don’t like flying; the train journey from London is really straightforward and a pleasure to experience. You can use https://www.thetrainline.com to find prices and look at the journey simply choose London-Lausanne or London-Geneva and your dates. For the leg in Switzerland the info and Swiss website above will provide that information but that will be a very small portion of the journey.
If you book early or have quite a lot of ski kit to bring out the train choice can often be the more cost effective choice too!
For full details on travel plans to Verbier use the Verbier Tourism website and click on the ‘Access’ tab. Another excellent website for finding information on Verbier is www.verbinet.com. If you click on the ‘Travel/Transport’ tab you will find every solution.
Testimonials
Just returned from the Wssa course in Cervinia in November. The conditions excellent and the course exceeded my expectations. I love to ski off piste and I use this week to increase my skill level on piste (and some off piste) and hopefully transfer these skills to the powder
I would fully recommend a Warren Smith 5 day Academy course for any skier who wants to improve their skiing technique and skills up to the next level or levels. I’ve just completed a November Cervinia course where conditions were amazing. The courses are very enjoyable and beneficial and I’ve had a great time!
What a difference a week makes! I discovered muscles I never even knew I needed to ski, have a whole load more to think about to hold my form this season, and had such a laugh! Thanks to the instructors and our fab group for such an awesome week
