Our Summer ski technique improvement courses and instructor training get off to a great start on the Zermatt/Cervinia glacier.
After what have been a few somewhat under par years for Summer skiing, 2024 has been a welcome return to great Summer glacier conditions. Our first week of Summer courses saw the beginning of our 7 week instructor course and the first of 4 weeks of Academy 5 day courses. We kicked off under blue skis and on top of stellar snow conditions, with the lack of many high level race teams the glacier is quiet with no queues and plenty of piste for skiers to work through drills and free-skiing ideas to help them on their way to their skiing goals.
The glacier really is a great place to fine tune your skiing as repetition is the name of the game, with a great selection of pitches to use depending on focus. Whilst it may lack the variety of runs and ability to travel compared to a winter ski holiday this means there are far fewer distractions allowing the best chance to engrain good habits in your skiing.
The views are spectacular and as we finish when the glacier closes at 1pm there is plenty of time to enjoy the good weather and summer in the Alps, with a golf course, endless hiking, mountain biking and there is even go karting not so far away.
