Course info

The Super 4’s course was devised to cater for clients looking to be pushed more both physically and mentally and ski more varied off-piste terrain. Perfectly suited for very experienced skiers and Academy regulars who have engrained solid foundations and are looking for the next challenge and a more extreme push in their skiing.

The other main characteristic of the Super 4’s courses is that the group size will be smaller than the Supergroups – 4’s instead of 6’s – making for even more intense instruction and development. The majority of time will be spent off the piste, pretty much from the offset of day one. All skiers in this group will be skiing with full avalanche kit and protective clothing and need to be confident getting stuck into off-piste terrain from the off.

The course is designed to build and develop skill and confidence in all off-piste terrain. Piste performance skiing relevant to improving in off-piste terrain will also be covered where useful, such as the development of carving to an expert level on piste, jump turns, short turns and numerous other essential skills for skiing and managing off-piste terrain. Skiers will use these skills to increase performance off piste and aim towards making controlled but higher speed turns off piste. Skiing narrow, steep couloirs is also one of the main objectives of this group aiming towards 45 degree slopes. Mastering zip line moguls in control and skiing in the trees will also be covered.

The course is suitable for Academy levels 4-6 on our rating scale. The course has been designed for skiers who have attended Academy courses before and therefore have the foundation, technical skills and knowledge in preparation for the course. If you have not skied with us before but feel your level is appropriate please get in touch to make sure before booking and we’ll give you an honest answer.

You can have a look at the video levels by clicking here. The confidence to get straight into off-piste terrain is paramount to being able to be on the Super 4’s courses so please consider this psychological level in addition to your technical level.

Testimonials

Once again, a fantastic week with the Academy, this time in the supergroup. Coaches helped improve everyone during the week with simple, insightful observations and instruction, dealt out with good humour and a genuine passion. Cannot recommend the academy courses and supergroup courses enough! Thanks for another incredible week and see you again next year!

Came wanting to improve my off-piste skiing ability and awareness. Could not have hoped for better experience. Have had individual lessons before but honestly this is a much better formula. Great feedback, insightful analysis, and right amount of skiing as a group, which made the week perfect. Scenery was stunning too. Verbier is an amazing resort. Perfect ski course and holiday for those that genuinely want to get better. Thanks.
